Jigsaw Counselling Service

Through our research in Halton it became obvious that there was an overwhelming need for a counselling service in Halton. The Jigsaw Counselling Service is supported by Mind Halton. As a new counselling service we aim to offer a variety of different counselling methods that will suit individual needs. The service will be accessible to residents of Halton who have been referred through their GP or other agencies. Aims:- to provide the residents of Halton with a professional and confidential counselling service, that is accessible day time and evenings. To keep waiting times to a minimum. An expected donation applies to our services, although no-one will be refused because of their financial services. Areas not covered by the service:- - Clients who are involved or have a court case pending - Perpertrators of sexual abuse - Clients who are under the influence of alcohol/drugs or high doses of medication - Clients receiving treatment from psychologists/psychiatrist without approval Areas we cover:- - Depression (mild/moderate) - Bereavement - loss - Divorce/separation - Relationship issues - Adult survivors of abuse - Gender issues - Domestic abuse - Post traumatic stress - Stress management - Resolving childhood issues - Lack of communication.

Jigsaw also facilitates a self help group for eating disorders. This is held on the first Monday of the month at the Vine Street centre 6-8pm. For more information ring Elaine or Alex on 0151 424 3362 between 2-4pm any wednesday.

Target age:16+ years old

Self-referral, any agency can refer.
