Provides a comprehensive foot health service based in the community with a small input into the acute service. All patients are assessed and treated according to their clinical and medical needs:- The service provides:- - Basic foot-care and routine podiatry for patients with a high clinical or medical need - Specialist treatment to children via biomechanical (leg and foot function) clinics. -Dedicated diabetic screening clinnics carried out. -Rapid access foot ulcer clinic in Halton General Hospital. - Nail surgery clinics eg partial nail avulsion - Emergency clinics at two health centres for early treatment of acute/painful/infected conditions. -Domiciliary service for the housebound. -'Transport' clinics for semi-housebound patients to attend clinics. (via the minibus) Patients with an acute condition are seen within four weeks of referral. Urgent cases are seen within 3 working days.
All routine referrals go onto a waiting list to be assessed.
