GP services provide advice on a variety of Sexual health issues- such as contraception, pregnancy testing, pregnancy, termination (abortion), emergrncy contraception and testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's) These vary between practice. It is recommended that you telephone for details prior to your appointment. Most of the practices operate on an 'appointment-only' basis and will only accept registered patients. However, it is possible to use a different GP or become registered at another surgery for purpose of contraception if you are uncomfortable about using your family doctor. Services are free of charge and your doctor will be able to point you in the right direction of further support.
